I "LIKE" the Facebook Page of The Finishing Touch Wedding & Event Planning located in Millburn, NJ and came across a photos of a baby shower they coordinated in 2009. Although I was intrigued, I was at first confused with the theme of the event because I saw a football and baseball amongst the decorations. Then it came to me like DUHHHHH its a Powder Puff Themed Baby Shower (lol). For those who are not aware of what is a Powderpuff...It's a reference to the division of a traditionally male sport reserved for females regardless of the age of the participants ( I stole this from Wikipedia...lol). Finishing Touch did an amazing job with the decor of the event where the invitation was in a form of a sports ticket. How creative?

I loved how they incorpated the sports field into the theme with flower centerpieces and table decor.
I love the added decor touches of caramel popcorn, pennant where the guests autographed, and other sports items.
In my opinion, having cupcakes at a baby shower is much more better. For a cake cutting ceremony, I recommend the parents having a cake no more than 12 inches round. The cakes went great with the color scheme for this event.
I have been to countless baby showers where an all out buffet was served (lol). Serving Finger foods and a signature drink is good as well.
